Apartment Review
Just the Facts!
Review Date: 9/16/2007

I had just finished High School and deicided to move to the city with my sister as we both got decent jobs here. In my review I will discuss the pros and cons of living here. Just remember that I personally speak of experiences and behalf of myself. In the beginning when the initial touring of the facility began, I looked at an apartment that was fully furnished and it was really nice, I have to admit. The woman who was giving the tour to myself and sister was very rude but I guess that was city attitude and I needed to get on board! We initially got a two bed 1 1/2 bath and it was on the 3rd floor near the entrance. We did try other places when we noticed a big price difference so Sedona it was for the time being. LOCATION-Just 5 minutes from the frwy! Actually it's more like 8 minutes! Pro's- Sedona Ridge is located in the NE heights, specifically Wyoming and Comanche. Near Postal Service, Schools, entertainment stores and shopping areas. Con's- I was a recent victim of a break in on and off the property. I have also noticed that criminal activity has picked up over the past couple years. Anyone notice the high volume of police and that's not because of street racers on montgomery either! HOUSING: Don't ever judge a book by it's cover! Whoever said this was and still is an idiot!!! Get renter's insurance... Pro's- Thank fully I was moving into my first apartment with a new carpet and also had a huge A/C. Smaller for the other apartments on the 1st and 2nd Floor. Also the A/C connects to the both the guest room and the master room. Con's- Your either looking down at the pool and have the sunlight in your face every morning or you have the other side of the complex to look at, which is mainly vehicles! PARKING: Some rates I noticed were better than I had thought and I know why! Pro's- Depending on where you are actually living you have a very good chance on getting a fairly decent or nice parking spot! typically the areas in the front or by building 3. Con's- For the other parking spaces other than parking area 3 it is a tough one! Vehicles not in use are taking up space. It's Fri/Sat and everyone has to party at the spot and it just happens to be Sedona Ridge! You can basically count on a crappy and far parking space after 6pm. OUTLETS: GYM- I have been here for awhile and if anyone know's about the gym area...it's me! Sedona Ridge has come a long way at getting more and new equipment in the fitness room. I actually applaud them for that! At first they only had the set up with 2 treadmills one which was always down and a universal machine that had the lat pull, seated bench, bicep curl and the peck squeeze. Now look at at!!! It's got a lot more features, including and elyptical, 2 cycles a new universal machine, 2 new treadmills, pull up bar with hanging ab crunches, a hyper extension for back day, and an ab station. POOLS: Indoor- noise ordinance during business hours so I suggest keeping it down! Usually open from 8am to 10pm but I have seen it closed for the most part! Outdoor- Majority of the time it's closed and when it is open it's crowded and it's always dirty! Just a few months ago it was so brown I think someone violated it and it took them a while to clean it!!! LAUNDRY ROOM: Moving on is a good thing...or is it! Pro's- No more quarters!!! They have now gone to a digital card reader that displays your current balance and easy reloadable. location is right by the outside pool an near the office. Con's- If you happen to leave your clothes in over night don't count on it all being there in the morning! Lately someone has had a crush on under garments specifically women under garments and it's disgusting. Also people are very rude when it comes to sharing...But that's city life! Just make sure you have enough money in your card for laundry day or either get there before 5pm because you'll have to upload $$$$$ in to your card. MAINTENANCE: Sometimes it's just better to fix it yourself! Pro's- They try their bests to maintain the entire place so I suggest being patient, unless it's an issue that needs immediate attention. Con's- Sometimes it takes forever for a project to get finished and if they even finish it! I a couple of bad experience with them and their work ethics. My ceiling was leaking water from the 2nd and 3rd floor and my kitchen ceiling caved in. They left the 1sq ft. hole open for 2 days and then came to basically plaster over with a cardboard box! My guest rest room shower will not get hot all day everyday and it's frustrating when it has been running for about 2 months now! My shower was never fully finished and it was alleged that I didn't follow procedures in contacting them in time so I had to pay to get it fixed. Price was $73.58. Also my living room window was shattered at the corner from the grounds keeper on cut grass day. A rock went through my window and I waited 3 weeks to get it replaced, and again I had to pay! Price was $68.07, just to note that it was during the winter we had last year! PESTS: Ants, spiders, and roaches oh my! I have had a constant pest problem for a long time and the strange thing is I did a better job at stopping it with a can of raid! Spray on the inside and outside of your welcome door on a weekly basis. This limits the pest problem and I had a huge one at that! Also be sure to spray behind your dishwasher, and under the fridge, the next morning your guaranteed to see a few suprises! MGMT: Now that there has been a few new faces in the office and a male in charge it has been a little better! Except the prices that seem to go up every year! In my perspective I think everyone who stays here pays a little too much for the cost of living. I do agree with the many posts of rude management and no respect for our concers. If they wanted to keep the people here at least take the initiative to observe, listen, and execute on demand for certain problems they have, and then they would have a lot of at least satisfied customers. Security: Where? I have just recently seen security guards walking around at night looking busy but that's only for about an hour. Other than that I think their in a car sleeping. The other big problem I have had is that the gates are not open and closed on time! The gate is closed 30 minutes prior to closing at 10pm and it's never open at 5am! SUMMARY: Whether this place is a common ground for everyday weekenders to party or for just a momentary stay it does have it's strong and week points. I don't recommend this place to to people with dissabilities because you have a narrow parking space and how on earth are you going to wheel up/down stairs? Please feel encouraged to complain even more because once everyone continues to do so, someone in the office is bound to make something happen! Sincerely Yours, J
