Apartment Review for La Paloma Apartments - Albuquerque, NM

Apt: when we moved in they claimed they'd clean the carpet. Black stains are everywhere on it. Things constantly are breaking off everywhere b/c the constructing of the units was done so cheaply. Neighbors: While 80% of the people who live here are courteous and respectful, about 20% are rude, egocentric low lifes that at least 4 times per week have large parties and wake everyone else up who works. Maintenance: Hope you're good with fixing problems by yourself, because La Paloma is pathetic when it comes to fixing problems. 2-4 weeks has been the average for them sending someone out, AFTER we call for the 3rd time to check in. They do not enforce rules that benefit the greater community. People keep their trash bags on their porch and their baby clothes hanging on their porches. There is NO security here. No gates and poorly lit parkinglots. Better write down the local police department number, because La Paloma doesn't even care enough to have a security line to call in to ask for assistance if neighbors are being unresasonably rude. Oh yeah - parking also can be tough, because there are so many abandoned cars here that look half burned, with blown out windows. Because this is not a gated community, people from the surrounding area think they can park their RV, car or truck that doesn't run in the parkinglot... and it does work for the 3-4 months they sit until residents have to start complaining. And the "two heated pools" are low maintained. Front office conveninetly closes one or the other down for extended periods of time. Both pools are only open for several months (July - Oct), otherwise only one is open. If a child "messes" in the pool, instead of adderssing the issue with chemicals and cleaning it, they'll just shut down the pool for the next day or two. Best of luck... probably have a better situation at another apt complex higher up on the hill with gates.
