Apartment Review for La Paloma Apartments - Albuquerque, NM

I specifically asked if the model was a decent representation of the actual apartment I would be getting and was told yes; they lied. My apartment had old, dark carpeting that had a slight smell of animal urine and when I complained the office said there were no pets in that apartment. I went home and started itching and knew there had been a cat in the apartment as I am allergic to cats, I then found an animal feeding dish on the patio and marched right back to the office to complain, they said they would check it out and possibly reclean the carpets which still has not been done and I have been here for 2 months! ALL of the appliances are horrible! My washing machine stops 2 times during the wash cycle, my dryer takes 2 cycles to dry clothing and the refrigerator set on the MAX just barely gets cold (not cold enough) and be careful where you put stuff in the freezer because it may not freeze all of the way! I had a stopped up sink that took 3 days to get fixed so I could not cook or do dishes.....lets don't even get started on the stove. There are spiders and ants in this apartment and a serious smoker lived here before us and all of the cabinets and fixtures are stained yellow. The linoleum is peeling up at the edges of the walls. Lots of noice from the hot water heater located on the wall of the master bedroom.

Safety is of no concern apparently because the office has stated that they are going to be shutting off all of the little bit of lighting on the grounds so no more people play vollyball after dark. My car stereo was stolen the first weekend we lived here. We get nasty notes on our doors about how the air conditioning not working (during 100+ degree weather) is not an urgent issue and that they are not required to provide air conditioning but do so as a luxury and the pool also is also something that they are not required to provide...HELLO??? Would anyone move in here if they did not have those amenities???? NO.

Bottom line is that these are by far the worst apartments I have ever lived in and I have to move for work quite often! Horrible management and maintenance.
