Apartment Review
seems to be getting rough around here

The models look great but the actual apartment is just average. In my apartment the linoleum was put down rather unprofessionally, as there is caulk and glue all over the surface which give it a dirty appearance (as if you've dropped stuff on the floor and never mop). Also, apt was vacant for a while before I moved it, but they didn't take the time to actually paint. Rather they just patched nail holes with filler so that there are obvious "spots" all over the walls. Unlike another reviewer, I can't complain about my electric bill. Its been about $20 per month tops. Its the gas bill that's higher. Sad, since the only gas appliance is the hot water heater. It never heats consistently. One day I have plenty of hot water for my shower and the next it runs cold 3/4 of the way through. My biggest concern is security. I've lived here for less than a year and in that time a lady had someone attempt to break into her apartment at night, a car was stolen by a thief brandishing a weapon, and today a homeless person was asking for money when I took my trash out. Now, I realize homeless people need assistance to get back on their feet, but in light of the other recent events, it just made me feel uneasy to have a dirty guy in a jump suit attempt to approach me when I was walking to the trash bin. The complex is supposed to be patroled by "Vital Protective Services" but they must work undercover, as I've never actually seen anyone patroling at night. I realize crime is everywhere but I am definitely concerned about coming an going here, especially at night. |
