Apartment Review for Chateau - Albuquerque, NM

During the past year or so I have, for the most part, enjoyed living here. But if you hope to have a dog in these apartments you better think again. Although they say that they welcome your dog, its really an out right lie. The management is not pet friendly. I was forced to sign an agreement that stated that if I let my dog go potty on the grounds at all I could be fined 25 dollars. The pet area is the spot that they clamed they would allow for the waist, but that is so riddled with glass and sharp rock that I dont even want to stand there with my bad shoes on. I wish not to subject my dog to such painful steps. Even though the pet area is in a central location, it is not positioned in the best spot for all apartment tenets to get to in any timely fashion. It really isnt a solution at all for pet owners. However, they do offer an off ground area for your pet in the back of the complex. It is a vast area over looking a wonderful Arroyo. But alas, the only way to get to this area is to walk almost completely across the complex, with your dog in tow or vice versa, in hope that you can get to it in time before there is an accident. Which if caught you can be fined for. Farther more under any pressure they refuse to install a reasonable security gate. I would not have moved here if I had been told about the sorry situation that has been afforded in this apartment complex for dogs. On the contrary I was lied to when shown the property. I was told that there were gates along the fence to get out to the arroyos but anything I have ever found is locked up tight or has been long since uninstalled. There are other stories I could tell you about dog owners and this land management, but they are too numerous to go into here. Truly, think hard about moving here if you are a pet owner.
