Apartment Review for The Aspens - Albuquerque, NM

My family and I have lived in the Aspens for two months. Since then our apartment has been leaking from the outside wall in the kitchen. The kitchen and tiny dining area has flooded once since I have arrived. Under the kitchen cabinets there is a large amount of black mold. The carpet pad is completely molded in the dining area. The dry wall is completely soaked and covered in mold. The master bath is molding on the ceiling and wall due to a leak from the upstairs master bath. The complex came in and sprayed Kilz on the drywall that was saturated. This was their rememdy to this problem - spraying Kilz. Now the wall and ceiling around the area from where the Kilz has been sprayed is molded with green, blue, and black mold. It grows more on a daily basis since the dry wall is completely soaked from the leak and very likely still leaking. Other neighbor have this same problem. Our neighbors tell us that in the wintertime their window sills cover in mold as well. They spray bleach on them and it still continues. Mold is obviously a great problem here. The pools are always green with a slime on the bottom. I will not let my children play in them. The health inspector told me to keep them out as well. The maintenence team attemps to clean the pools, but does not do it properly or it wouldn't be slimy and full of bacteria. In two months time the pools have looked clean to my eye only three or four times. Screens are also a problem here. They do not seem to have enough to go around for all the apartments. My neighbors have been waiting for screens for four months. I am waiting as well. The design of the three bedroom apartment has a major flaw. There is only one air conditioning/heating vent for the entire living area, kitchen and dining room. This leaves for very hot days and evenings. When I have friends over they always mention the temperature of my apartment. The mananger suggested that we close all the vents in the rest of the apartment so the vent in the living area would have a larger amount of air flowing through it. Well, this makes the rest of the apartment very hot as well and the living area/kitchen/dining area is still very hot. Plus, the bathroom has now started molding due to no air circulation to help it dry. The grout is molding and the tiles as well. Parking is also a problem for there is just not enough spaces for the renters' automobiles.
